Refunds

Last updated 6 October 2026

30 days, no questions asked

If Cloister is not for you, you can have your money back within 30 days of buying, for any reason or none. That applies to a first purchase and to a renewal.

There is also a 14-day trial with nothing withheld, so you can find out whether an uncancellable block suits you before you pay anything.

How to ask

Email us at support@getcloister.app, any time in the 30 days, from the address you bought with or quoting the order number from your receipt, so that nobody else can cancel your licence. Telling us why is welcome and entirely optional.

Paddle, which sells Cloister, pays the refund to your original payment method, within 14 days of approving it. When it reaches you then depends on your bank or card issuer.

What happens to your licence

A refund of a purchase ends the licence: we revoke your licence key, so it can no longer activate a Mac. Cloister checks its licence on the Mac without contacting us, so we cannot switch off a copy already activated — please uninstall it.

A refund of a renewal takes back only what the renewal bought: your update window returns to where it was, and the licence itself stays.

A refund never ends a running session. A block you started stays until it ends, exactly as it would have.

After 30 days

If Cloister does not do what we said it does, write to us whenever you find out — your rights as a consumer do not end with this guarantee. We will try to fix it, and where we cannot, we will refund you.

Refunds we may decline

We may decline a refund under this guarantee where there is clear evidence of abuse: repeatedly buying and refunding, fraud, or using a refunded licence to get around the licence check. That never limits your legal right to withdraw (below).

Your legal rights

This policy adds to your rights under the law; it does not replace them. Consumers in the EU and the UK have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Our guarantee gives you 30, whether or not you have started using Cloister.
